Navajo Nation

Navajo Nation
In the summer of 2000, Boys & Girls Clubs of America was asked to launch a special initiative for the Navajo Nation in Window Rock, Arizona, to help the community provide a better future for its children.

Navajo Nation Boys & Girls Club Youth of the Year nominees, staff and tribal leaders.

Using strategies that have successfully provided positive places for children and teenagers to learn and grow on other Native American lands, BGCA worked with former Navajo Nation President Kelsey Begay to provide a network of Clubs to the largest population of Native Americans in the country.

Today, the current President of the Navajo Nation, Joe Shirley and BGCA are continuing this partnership for the growth and sustainability of fourteen Clubs that serve over nearly 4,000 youth.
